It's good to be home, but a part of myself always stays behind in Andalucia when I turn. Or maybe I bring it with me? I don't know…
The Spain part of the trip included Málaga, Marbella, Granada, Chiclana and Jerez de la Frontera, where some of my favorite purple in the world live. A moonlit concert at the exquisite Alhambra, Niña Pastori in a bullfight arena in Marbella, 3 different generations of flamenco singers in Jerez, and of course only the yummiest did and wine…Alas!
Back home now, I'm feeling inspired. If you're in NYC, save the date for a new event at the gorgeous Triad Theater on SUN, SEPT 16 @ 4:30PM. And if you can’t make that, come to Drom NYC on THURS, SEPT 30 @ 7PM.
Thank you Keith Widyolar for this beautiful and informative post about the kind of music I've been immersed in for all of my life!!

🎉Just Announced!! On Sunday, June 20th at 6pm, I will be headed to Brooklyn to record 3 of one-of-a-kind 7” vinyl singles with @leestavall as part of their Direct-To-Vinyl Live Sessions project.
How it works: You choose the song, and my band will perform it LIVE as the record's cut in real time - making you the only owner of that particular performance. This is literally as personalized as it gets folks. 😊 Limited pre-sales available now!
It’s not often that you meet people like my old friend, Sean Kupisz. It has been ages since anyone heard him and his blessed bass. This week we worked on a recording of a song I wrote two years ago about the birds in my courtyard on a sunny rainy day in NYC. It’s called “Confusingly Beautiful” or “Sun & Rain”…not quite sure yet.
Now I’m back in the city after an adventurous road trip to visit him with my son, I’m feeling inspired to keep working on original music. And certainly want to work through the recording of this song with Seany.
SO, I guess…stay tuned! :)
